Florida families have another opportunity to weigh in on a proposed Medicaid waiver change. The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, also called AHCA, is accepting public comments on an amendment to the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Comprehensive Managed Care Waiver, known as the ICMC Waiver.
Comments are due by August 28, 2026. The proposed amendment updates the definition of developmental disability and adds a definition for Tatton-Brown-Rahman syndrome.
What is changing
The ICMC Waiver is a voluntary, comprehensive Medicaid program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The proposed amendment would revise how the waiver defines developmental disability. Because eligibility definitions help shape who can qualify for a program, families may want to review the language closely.
