Terms of Service
The plain-English rules for using our apps and website.
Guiding Pathways Foundation · Effective Date: August 9, 2026 · Last Updated: August 9, 2026
Plain language summary: Guiding Pathways Foundation is a nonprofit that builds free educational tools to help families navigate developmental disability, autism care, and adult transition systems. Our apps are not medical or legal advice. Use them as a starting point, not a final answer. Be kind. Don’t misuse them.
1. Who these terms apply to
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Guiding Pathways Foundation, including the website at guidingpathways.help and the web applications accessible after creating an account (Autism Pathways, Disability Pathways, Adult Pathways, and any future apps in the Pathways family — collectively, "the Apps").
By creating an account or using our Apps or website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
Guiding Pathways Foundation is operated from Colorado, United States. 501(c)(3) status is pending.
2. Who can use our Apps
Our Apps are intended for adults 18 years of age and older — primarily parents, guardians, caregivers, and adults with disabilities themselves.
If you are between 13 and 17 years old and are using our tools to research services for yourself, you may use the Apps with the knowledge and involvement of a parent or guardian.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 13, please do not use our Apps. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will delete their account.
3. What our Apps are — and are not
Our Apps are educational and organizational tools only. They do not provide medical advice, legal advice, benefits determinations, or professional guidance of any kind.
The content in our Apps — including information about Medicaid, waiver programs, disability services, adult transition, and related topics — is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare provider, attorney, benefits counselor, or government agency.
Program names, eligibility rules, agency contacts, income thresholds, and waitlist information vary significantly by state, county, and time. Always verify information directly with the relevant agency before taking action based on anything in our Apps.
We make no guarantee that the information in our Apps is complete, current, or accurate for your specific situation.
4. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your account information up to date. You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of someone else without their permission.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@guidingpathways.help.
5. Beta periods and app availability
Some of our Apps launch in beta periods before full release. During these periods, the Apps are provided as-is and may contain incomplete features, occasional errors, or content that is still being refined.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our Apps at any time without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Downtime may occur due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use our Apps to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our Apps or infrastructure
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute content without permission
- Use the Apps in any way that could damage, disable, or impair them
- Submit false or misleading information
7. Intellectual property
All content in our Apps and on our website — including text, design, graphics, guided pathways, waiver guidance content, and overall tool structure — is owned by Guiding Pathways Foundation and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may use our Apps for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may print or save your personalized action plans for your own use. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from our Apps without our written permission.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Our Apps and website are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Apps will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses; that the information is complete, accurate, or current; or that the Apps will meet your specific needs or produce any particular outcome.
Your use of our Apps is at your own risk. This disclaimer does not affect any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Guiding Pathways Foundation and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our Apps, including but not limited to decisions made based on information in the Apps, loss of data, inability to access the Apps, or any outcomes related to Medicaid, waiver, or disability service applications.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of our Apps will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for our free apps, is zero).
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at hello@guidingpathways.help. We would genuinely like to resolve any issues directly before any formal process.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and notify you by email or in-app notice where appropriate. Your continued use of our Apps after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
